Five criteria for evaluation of jadeite collection value

1. Emerald head

The head of jadeite refers to the degree of transparency or hydration. As the saying goes, “their traders look at the water head and the layman looks at the colors”. The water head is a problem that is easily overlooked by non-advisers when they choose the jadeite. Looks crystal clear, it is very watery, tender lips for the top grade. Translucent ice jade, almost completely transparent for the best (commonly known as glass species). The permeability is general and it looks water-sounding. It is the most common mid-range product on the market. It is opaque, looks dry, and has no luster.

2. Emerald texture

Jade texture can be understood as a combination of the structure and transparency of jade. The important characteristics of high-quality jade are luster, moist and fine.

3. Emerald color

Emerald's common colors are green, colorless, transparent, white, purple, yellow, blue, red, black, brown, and gray. White is the most common and it is cheap. Whether the color is bright, shades of light or dark, and whether the distribution is uniform is the three elements for evaluating the color of jade. Bright colors, rich, and not black are the top grades. The color distribution is usually best with uniform distribution, wide coverage, and smooth naturalness. Miscellaneous colors, distribution is not smooth, have a great impact on value.

4. Emerald processing

As the saying goes, jade is not an instrument. The excellent emerald processing technology can increase the value of jade and it is more in line with people's aesthetics. The high-grade jade are all hand-carved, and ordinary low-grade jade is mostly machine-engraved.

5. Jade's Clarity and Radiance

Jade's clarity can be understood as the appearance of the naked eye, there is no black spots, stone flowers, noise, stone, cracks and other defects. Cracks have the greatest impact on the quality of jadeite. As long as the cracks are visible to the naked eye under normal lighting, their value will be greatly reduced.
